Larry Bird, President of the Indiana Pacers, has decided to step down from the role. He will remain with the team as a consultant. Kevin Pritchard will take over the role of President of the club. This decision may affect the career of Paul George, as Bird wasn't going to trade him, but now that is uncertain. Bird said that he would not trade George, and that all the talk is fake news, and that people kept snowballing onto it.

Questions - What would be your response if you were Paul George, and you knew that the man who was making sure you wouldn't be traded after the season is now gone?

Why do you think that Larry Bird stepped down, after being the president for a long time?

Responses - I think that I would be worried, and i would probably talk with the organization, to make sure that I wouldn't lose my spot in the organization I think that he stepped down because he just was getting tired of it, and I think that he wants to do something else for awhile.

  • Good job! You could have replied more frequently.

  • I'd be pretty scared if I were Paul George although he plans on leaving anyway due to lack of success of the franchise. I think Larry stepped down because he was tired of failure and got tired of all the pressure.

  • I would be scared that I would get dropped from the team and have to risk not having a job for the next year. He probably got tired of all the stress and people being mad at him and wanted to retire and have some time to relax.

    • I agree with the pressure and stress part because this world is so harsh on failure and him being a former All Star and Hall Of Fame member he might not want to hurt his reputation.

  • If I was Paul George I be afraid of being traded away from Pacers, who he was been loyal to his entire career. I think that he may have been pressured to leave because of his refusal of trading Paul George.

  • I would be upset and would be fairly frustrated.

I feel like he probably got burned out of all the chaos of the team.

  • 1) I'd think it was just talk, people do tend to snowball onto rumors. And if it wasn't I still wouldn't worry about it.

    2) He probably was ready to retire from it or it was too much and he got busy with other things.

  • Depending on how much that spot meant to me, i might find a way to keep it. Maybe since Bird stepped down, George might not want to keep the spot but that all depends on their friendship and George's dedication to the spot. we can't be the ones to really say why Bird stepped down but it might have been because he got tired or for something more personal like health conflict only time would tell. i hope George takes time to think about what his next step is going to be because as of right now, if he wants to keep that spots, it's going to take some devotion.

  • I think that Paul George wants to leave and this will increase the odds that he will leave. I think that he is just getting tired of it and is ready to move on with his life.

  • If I were in Paul George’s position, I would be very distraught. It seems the only reason why he is in his current position is because of the former president. Now, the possibility of him losing his position is much higher. Larry Bird could have been tired of constantly feeling pressure and may have wanted to relax.
