Italy Earthquake

Italy recently had a powerful earthquake, which made Italian home crumble and fall down to the ground  almost killing 250 people. Rescue teams are coming in with sniffer dogs to help look for civilians. Helicopters flew above and work crews search with heavy work equipment to find any civilians trapped and need help.

Thousands of people were injured and about 264 civilians needed medical care. "More than 4,000 tents have been erected for homeless survivors, Postiglione said, and 1,060 firefighters, 1,000 police officers and 400 soldiers were working in the affected area. The Italian Red Cross said it had 462 volunteers and had set up two field tents with kitchens."

  • You didn't pose and questions and you only replied two days.

  • It is so terrible that this happened. It's good that their are people willing to help out. Hopefully everything can be rebuilt quickly and the people are getting the help that they need.

    • A lot of people are in the hospital getting the help that they need and rebuilding might be what they need for in the future! if they put the money into rebuilding better building that can stand the next earthquake.

  • This is sad and hard to see. It's nice how many people volunteered to help set up tents and things to help people.

    • people are very kind and thank god people want to help we would never have enough people to help with all this if no one volunteered!

  • I think this is just terrible. It's very sad how something that lasts such a short amount of time can be so powerful and can cause so much distruction. I read somewhere that since it's such an old city that they might not even be able to rebuild the city and if they do it's not going to look anywhere near how it used to look like. I found that very sad since it was such a beautiful city and it was so old. I hope everyone that surrvived finds a good home somewhere and can get through going through such a horrible tragedy and loosing so many people so close to them.

    • they would have to put a lot of money into all the re- building. but you can look at the positive and think that they can rebuild it even better for the next time.

  • I can't imagine having to go through this. Loosing friends and family to such a disaster would be horrible. Hopefully things start to get better for Italy,

    • italy is handling it well i think! they are doing the best they can

  •        What a very emotional situation. Isn't it weird how just one event can change the lives of those around you so quickly? Everyday is then changed into a greater disaster. I am glad to hear that there are so many volunteers helping in such a devastating situation. I'm hoping that the injured recover quickly and hoping the family's of the ones who died also heal. This is very sad and scary for the ones affected. What are your thoughts about it?
