In the last week, Snapchat has added a new chatbot feature that is available to all users. Initially, this chatbot feature was only available to those who are subscribed to Snapchat Plus and came out a couple of months ago. The chatbot, officially called “My AI” by Snapchat, appears in Snapchat users chat feeds and is available to chat or answer questions 24/7 after agreeing to the terms and conditions. My AI is powered by the latest version of ChatGPT and is very similar to ChatGPT with the way it works. Although, My AI does have more filtered responses than Chat GPT, and will not answer any inappropriate questions or engage in any inappropriate conversations.
One of the main concerns with this new feature is that My AI may make cheating on schoolwork easier and more accessible to students. It would also be harder for schools to manage as My AI is a part of Snapchat and not its own program. However, Snapchat would argue that My AI was designed to be more of a persona than an answer machine. Although, My AI does still have the ability to generate answers or any writing as long as it has the proper instructions to do so.
Why did Snapchat add My AI? Snapchat describes their new AI technology as a “friendly chatbot” that was created to answer users, “burning trivia questions, offer advice on the perfect gift for your BFF’s birthday, help plan a hiking trip for a long weekend, or suggest what to make for dinner.” Snapchat has stated that “just like real friends”, the responses from the chatbot will become more relevant, the more interactions there are. Evan Spiegel, Snapchat’s CEO, predicts that in the future speaking to AI will just become a normal thing in day-to-day life. “The big idea is that in addition to talking to our friends and family every day, we’re going to talk to AI every day,” he stated. “And this is something we’re well positioned to do as a messaging service.”
In my opinion, I do not see much of a point in having My AI on my phone, and I will probably get rid of it soon. I think it is strange how Snapchat has tried to design it to be basically like another friend and coded it to respond like a real person. It is also weird how it supposedly will develop its own persona overtime based on what has been said to it.

Yes I think the AI can be usefull for lots of different things. I think it's really helpful with homework and other things when you need help. I use it for help with homework if I need it. I think AI is kind of creepy and I wouldn't want to be near an AI robot or anything they just creep me out.
I actually don't have Snapchat so I wouldn't know, but I've heard mixed reviews from my friends about it. Someone I know had it write them a rap verse and said it was great and it actually sounded pretty good when he rapped it. But, one of my other friends tried to have it give her ideas about a poem and she said it wasn't helpful at all. Many people have told me it's useful, and just as many have said it's not. I don't know what to believe.
I don't think its useful at all and I got rid of it as soon as I could. I don't trust it at all and I do think Snapchat should just delete it. I think the technology is cool but also very scary. I wouldn't use it in my day-to-day life but I could see how a lot of people would.
I agree, AI technology is very interesting, but it also has the potential to be harmful.
I don't think that My AI is useful. As a matter of fact, I think it's a little bit creepy. I don't really use it. I only ask it stupid questions. I don't like thinking about how our future is probably going to be filled with AI. I feel like AI will get more advanced and take our jobs. Overall, I just don't like AI at all.
I agree, a concern of AI advancing is that AI may take away jobs from human workers.
I don't think MyAI is useful at all. It is very creepy because you can get it to tell you your address. I don't use it at all because its pretty pointless. It is scary that Ai is getting so powerful.

I don't really think that My AI in snapchat is useful. Accordingly, I also don't use it very much. I have my real friends I can talk to and if I need help I can just look it up at google. However, I think that it was a very innovative idea to add something like that to snapchat. I'm just not sure if it is very useful.
I agree, if I had a question I would go to Google before going to My AI.
