Girl accidentally runs half marathon

12 year old girl signed up to run a 5k, but accidently ran a half marathon. She was worried she was going to be late when she arrived. She set off with everyone else and started running. She arrived 15 minutes early with a group of people who were running the Rochester Regional Health Flower City Challenge, which is over 13 miles long. The 5k she signed up for was a little over 3 miles and she ran 13.1 miles in 2:43:31.

  • I would be surprise and amazed that is was able to do that.

  • I would be shocked that I ran half a marathon on accident or not. I would probably also feel a little dumb that I didn't know how far a 5K was.

  • I would be very surprised if I accidentally ran a half marathon. I also feel like I would know if I accidentally ran 10 extra miles. I guess this is just one example of "mind over matter."

  • I would feel really dumb if I didn't know the difference between a 5k and a half marathon but would be happy that I ran a half marathon without even thinking about it. I think this girl could end up running marathons if she though a half marathon was a 5k.

    • Yeah I do not think that I would be able to run that much. It would be pretty amazing and I would be happy that I could accomplish that unknowingly.

  • I would feel really good knowing that I had the power to go hard even when I thought that I didn't need to go anymore. I would be amazed that I ran that far.

  • More power to her she ran so much more than she had to and she can feel nothing but good about herself.

    • I agree if she has the strength to run that much as a 12 year old who knows what she could do in a few more years! She tried hard.

  • I would feel really dumb at first but then be happy I finished.

  • I would feel really awkward but happy to
