Reporters say that it started as a simple traffic stop in Hattiesburg Mississippi and ended with the sound of gunshots. Benjamin Dean, 34, and Liquori Tate, 24, were shot just before the suspects fled the crime scene, using the police cruiser as a getaway car.Two of the suspects were charged with capitol murder, grand theft auto and possession of a firearm. The third was charged with accessory, and the fourth with obstruction of justice. Curtis Banks, one of the suspects, was reported to have been yelling "I didn't do it" as they took him into the police station. The police officers were taken to the hospital, but later died. Their bodies were taken in for autopsies. This marked the first time in 30 years that an officer was killed in the line of duty in this town. The community is very upset, they say that they will mourn together. The Mississippi governor said "This should remind us to thank all law enforcement for their unwavering service to protect and serve."

I honestly have no clue as to why someone would think that it would be acceptable to shoot and kill someone else just so they can get out of a simple traffic stop. Obviously the suspects had more to hide than just what they had been pulled over for. Possibly they have done something major before, because I don't think that one day getting stopped by the cops for a traffic violation, a couple of men would think that it would be a good idea to murder someone for no reason. What do you think was going through these men's heads when they pulled the trigger and stole the car of the officers that they had just killed? What do you think was so important to them that they felt such a strong urge to get away? Do you think that they feel remorse or guilt now that it is over? Why or why not?

  • Again, good summary but you only replied once.

  • They should feel guilty for what they did. I wonder what their motives were..

  • I hope that they feel guilt for what they did, but some don't. If they are repeat killers i don't think they will.

  • I think that they were definitely hiding something. I am pretty sure no one would shoot a cop for a traffic stop.

  • I think that they maybe have something wrong with them like matthew said. You never know what goes on in these suspect's minds when they do this kind of stuff. I think that they should feel remorse because they just killed two people for no reason.

  • I think that they should feel a lot of remorse with this. They killed 2 people for a simple traffic stop.

  • I think that they might of had some mental issues. Or they had something really bad with them. But it's not ok just to shoot somebody and kill them for it.

  • They probably weren't thinking. They just did what they thought of. They may have had some drugs with them and they did not want to be caught with them. They may feel bad for what they had done, but they may not have

    • I agree with this, they must of did something wrong before this for them to shoot them

  • I would probably guess some sort of mental issue or parent issues. It depends who the person is some would say yes but others wouldn't.
