FBI and Apple Investigate Leaked 'Private' Photos

A hacker's leak of nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence and other female celebrities is now a case for the FBI.

Nude photographs of Lawrence, who won an Academy Award last year for her role in "Silver Linings Playbook," were splashed on various sites Sunday. They appeared on 4chan, Reddit, Twitter and Tumblr, among others.

Kate Upton's lawyer confirmed photos of the model-actress were among those leaked, calling it "an outrageous violation" of her privacy. "We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible," attorney Lawrence Shire said.

Lawrence's publicist said "authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence."

Do you think this should be a federal case? Do you think it was an invasion of the actors privacy? Tell why nor why not below.

  • This was a big story and a huge invasion of privacy no doubt. Be sure to link to the actual story. You also didn't reply to people comments which is worth 10 points of the 25.

  • I think that it shouldn't  be a federal case because there are better things for them to do. If the actors didn't want these to get out then they shouldn't have taken them in the first place.

  • I do believe this should be an investigation, and it should be considered as an invasion of privacy. My question would be are they legitimate? There are tons of fake celebrity nudes on the internet, but if these are real that would be a problem. I certainly wouldn't want someone to be able to take anything on my phone a put it on the internet.

  • I think it is a invasion of privacy because they should not be taking pictures of them when they do not know. But if the actor is taking the pictures it is their fault.

  • I don't think that it should be a federal case because it is part the actress' fault and part other people. Also I believe that this is an invasion of privacy because someone posted them but then again the actresses took them.

  • Yes I think it should be a federal case because of hacking. Also it is an invasion of privacy because they hacked into the actors computer which is an invasion of privacy.

  • This is partly the actresses fault because they would know that they would be high targets for hackers. It shouldn't be a federal case cause they should have something better to do than search for this hacker.

  • I don't think this should have been a federal case because if it was someone that isn't very popular it wouldn't of became that big of a deal. I think the actors and actresses should be prepared for this kind of stuff if they get the pictures taken.

  • I don't think it should be a federal case only if the photos were being sold but because they are already out to the public its pointless now to try to chase people down because their are so many websites that could have the photos. It was an invasion of privacy but they still took the pictures which was not a good idea knowing that people would try to get to them.

  • No thier is no need for anything thier actors so who cares.
