Famous YouTuber Pranked into saying the N-word

In a recent video posted by a Youtuber by the name of Tana mongeau, She talks about a recent VIP meet and greet in San Francisco when it went sour because someone put his arm around her neck and told her to say the N-word. Here how the event went down:  Tana describes how her recent tour stop in San Francisco was soured after a fan who had paid upwards of $200 for a VIP meet and greet experience “scared her beyond words”. The fan “locked his arm around [her] neck” and told her to look directly into his camera before shouting “SAY N****R” into her face. After a struggle, Tana wrestled out of his grasp before getting her tour manager to remove him from the room so she could greet the rest of her fans. Tana recalls the moment by saying that she was "scared for so many reasons. she literally felt like a ghost" The person who pulled the 'Prank' was another youtuber who had attended the meet and greet, known as IdubbzTV. Tana sent a bunch of tweets his way, basically calling him out of his prank. There's footage of the incident, but it has not been released yet by the friend that was with idubbbzTV.

Questions:

1. What would you do if you were Tana and in this situation?

2. why do you think that idubbzTV did this prank? was it for views on YouTube? or something more?

My opinion:

If i were in Tana's situation, i would be just as scared as she was, but i would repress it and fight back. I think that idubbbzTV did this for views on YouTube, to be honest.

  • Well done Samantha!

  • I wouldnt know what to do if I was in this situation, I would be scared and most likely get out as soon as I could. They were pry looking to get attention from doing this to get famous.

  • I wouldn't have handled the situation any better my first thoughts would be to get out of his reach and then call for help. I believe this guy was just doing it for the views and to also get his name out. Some people do stupid things just so they can be noticed.

  • I would be scared too and wouldn't know what to do.I would probably try to get out of it. I think they might've did that for the views and maybe to get more famous.

  • I don't blame her for getting upset. There's a line for everything and I think it was crossed in this situation. I would try to refrain from saying it and fight back.

  • As funny as he may think it is, I do not blame Tana for being upset. Experiences like that can really scare a person into maybe not doing those things again. Meet and greets especially can be dangerous. The only reason I see YouTubers do ranks is for the followers. Some of them are pretty genuine and funny. Others are just outright crazy and stupid.

  • I would have thought that the person wants to kill me rather I will shout so that everyone can come possible as they can and not becoming afraid of his fake threatening, I think they did this prank in order to get more viewers and followers and they can prove that they are not scared of anything.

    • At least idubbbzTV didn't put a gun or a knife to Tana's throat, otherwise she could have ended up like Christina Grimmie, who was also killed by a fan at a meet and greet in 2016. and most people dont know what someone else is capable of, so thinking that someone is going to kill you is a really good way to get someone's attention, so that they can help escort whoever the person is causing the scene off the property.

  • I would throw a left hook and run as fast as I could. That is not okay to just grab someone around the neck. I would try to hurt him and then get away quick. I think they did it because they thought it was going to be funny until it actually happened.

    • I agree that its not OK to grab someone without consent, and i would throw a punch and a kick, just to get enough time to book it to the nearest security guard and have the person removed from the premises. Youtubers like idubbbzTV most likely thought it would be funny until after the fact, then they would realize that it's not funny and it may have offended people.
