Eleven rescued as vessel sinks

Eleven people were rescued on Thursday after their towing vessel that was carrying 75,000 gallons of diesel fuel  sank off the coast of Oahu, according to Honolulu Coast Guard. Their were two ship near by that heard the mayday call on the radio and helped rescue the eleven people. This could have some effects on the environment.

What would you do if you heard a call for help on the radio?

  • Your summary is quite brief and you only replied once.

  • I would have went and helped no matter what the cost.

  • It depends. If I'm on a boat, I would call for other nearby boats to come help me help anybody stranded. If I'm not on a boat, call a boat.

  • I would have done the same thing as they did. And if they needed help, then I would just call more ships to help.

  • If I was the captain of a ship I would probably call more boats in and try to save as many of the people as possible.

  • If I were on one of the boats that heard the call I think that I would have reacted in the same way. I also would've called into the coast guard station to get more help.

    • I think thats all you could really do

  • Listen and then probably call the cops or try to help them myself. I would also try and talk to them over the thing.
