Dog Food Recall Due to Euthanasia Drug

In Iowa there isn't a real concern about this dog food recall. If you live in California though, there is a serious concern. Coco Licious, a small dog food based company if California is recalling their dog food due to some cans coming back testing positive for pentobarbital. Pentobarbital is serious because this is a drug that is used to euthanize dogs (put them down). Right now there is no confirmed deaths to any pets, but if smaller dogs do eat this dog food there is enough pentobarbital for them to die.

1) If you regularly bought this dog food, would you continue buying or switch dog food brands? Why or why not?

2) What kind of compensation should people get that buy this product?

I would not continue to buy this because obviously this dog food brand isn't serious about the safety of the pets of the owners they sell to.

I think everyone that buys this needs to get their money back and if their dog gets sick they should sue.

  • I would definitely switch to a new dog food brand because i would be very worried for my dog. I feel if people have lost there dog due to this dog food they should get some king of compensation like money.

  • I would not continue to feed this food to my dog if I knew it could kill them. I think that everyone who is feeding this food to their dog needs to switch right away and not continue feeding it to their dogs. I think that the people feeding their dogs this food should get their money back for the most recent amount of food they have bought. I also think that if the dog gets sick then they should sue. I think another good idea would to have the dog checked to make sure they weren't at risk of getting sick.

  • I would definitely switch dog foods. I would want my dog to be healthy and eating safe foods. I would be trusting the brand and then hearing that their food may kill my dog would make me lose all my trust. I think people should get money back and get their dogs checked for free because it was the companies fault.

  • I would definitely switch dog foods because I dont want my dog ingesting harmful chemicals even if it doesn't kill them it could make them sick. I think they should be fully compensated with extra money just because it put their pets in danger.

  • I would switch dog foods for sure because I would not want to risk getting my dog sick or having it die. I think whoever has bought this dog food they should get a refund.

  • I would definitely switch brands after something like that. I would not want to put my dog in danger of possibly dying. I think the people that bought this product should get their money back plus more money for putting these peoples' dogs in danger.

  • I wouldn't even have to think twice about switching dog foods, if I knew that there was danger for my dog I would throw out my old, leftover food too. There should be an apology and possibly a money back guarantee to those who had problems with the food.

  • I would switch dog food brands after that incident because you almost can never trust their dog food to be safe again. I think that whoever bought it should get the money they paid for it back and if some pets die they should get more or even a new dog.

  • I would for sure switch brands because I wouldn't want to risk my dog dying. I think that everyone who bought this product should get money back. I also think that I would sue the company because this is a major thing.
