Death in Design

Oscar de la Renta a famous fashion designer dies at the age of 82 due to natural causes. Renta was famous for designing the clothes all the first ladies clothing for special events. He even designed wedding dresses for the daughters of former Presidents for there weddings. Former first lady Laura Bush said, "We will always remember him as the man who made women look and feel beautiful."

Do you think designing dresses for the first ladies is an important job? Why or Why not?

  • Its a very interesting job probably not the  most important 

  • Not really no, it seems like more of a waste of time and money than a necessity for the GOV to be spending money on. They dont need to be wearing custom clothes when they could just wear normal clothes.

    • But they do have to look good in front of the cameras.

  • It could be because some people feel that it is important to make women look and feel beautiful. Some other people might not even care how women look and how they feel
