Cleveland Murder Suspect Kills Himself

Steve Stephens, the Cleveland murder suspect that posted a video on Facebook of his slaying, shoots and kills himself after a police chase in Erie County, Pennsylvania. For several days now the police have been looking for Stephens and even set a $50,000 bounty for finding him for the killing of Robert Godwin who was a grandfather of 14 grandchildren.

Why do you think he just killed a man walking outside of his house?

Why do you think he posted the video of it on Facebook?

What do you think would have been his sentence of he was caught?

My opinion:

I think that he just wanted attention and figured he would do it so the whole world would see. I think it would have been the death sentence, because he committed several crimes not just 1.

  • I think that he did this because he may have had some mental problems that were causing him to think this way. I think that he posted the video to get attention, and/or he wanted people to know what he is capable of doing. I think that his punishment would have been either death sentence or a life time in prison.

  • I don't know why he murdered that man. He apparently chose him randomly and I figure that he might just be a crazy psychopath. He probably filmed the murder and posted it online to get attention. I guess he simply wanted to get clicks and likes and that's just sick. For doing something cruel and horrible like that he should at least get sentenced for a lifetime in prison. Anything else would be unfair.

  • Maybe just he didn't care. I think that he posted the video to get people's attention. I think he would've defiantly received life in prison or probably put to death.

  • I think he did because he is insane and I don't have a clue why. I hope his sentence was lifetime in prison for murder.

  • because reportedly he has killed almost a dosen people so the classified him as a cereal killer and normaly they dont kill for a resin. i think that he just wanted to be famous and did not care how it happaned.

  • I think that he might've done it to get peoples attention. He might also have done it so then people knew who he was. I think he posted the video on Facebook because he thought more people would see it and then it would be something everyone would be talking about. I think it would be life in prison because he killed someone for no reason.

  • Normally when people become murders they have lost their minds so he probably wasn't thinking. He probably broke and picked the first person he saw to kill. He probably thought that he could get away with the murder and didn't really think about anything he was doing. If he was caught I think that he would of been charged with murder and running from the law.

  • Who knows what was going through this man's mind when he shot another man walking outside of his house. Maybe he was angry because of something and wanted revenge or maybe he had something mentally wrong with him. There are a multitude of reasons that could have been in this situation. I think maybe he wanted attention by posting the video on Facebook. He may have wanted people to notice him. I think he would have gotten life in prison as a sentence. Something like this is serious and he would have been punished severely.

  • I cannot imagine simply walking outside and killing a man outside of my house! It's so sad to see what this world is coming to. I think this man had a mental illness and wasn't in a healthy state of mind. I also think that he wanted attention, wanted to prove a point, or wanted to convey a message, and therefore felt the need to post this video on Facebook. If he would have been caught, I think this man deserved life in prison without parole.
