Atlanta Bridge Is Falling Down My Fair Lady!

One of the busiest stretches of roadway in America caught a massive fire and collapsed. The fire was reported At 6: 21 pm underneath the bridge on the northbound side and as the bridge stated to collapse at 7:00, authorities had to close down the road and turn cars around during the rush hour before the bridge completely collapsed.

Deal declared a state of emergency for Atlanta and Fulton County late Thursday night. The fire was declared under control at about 8:00 pm but, the bridge collapsing is the bigger problem.

The lanes of I-85 are more than likely to be closed indefinitely until further notice. It's going to be a serious transportation crisis but the cause of the fire hasn't been determined yet.

questions:

What do you think caused the fire?

what do you think is going to be more difficult to fix?

I think that it might have been naturally caused and that the biggest issue might be kids getting to school but i think it's better than deaths.

  • the bridge I think someone might have started the fire to like sabotage the bridge as a act of terrorism. The bridge of course because they cant just put a new piece of bridge i think because i think you have to restart the whole bridge and that will take a very long time to fix the bridge.

  • A homeless guy's fire might have gotten out of control and manage to reach the bridge. The entire bridge will be tough just to fix alone but I don't think it will be all that difficult to be honest.

  • Seems like a electrical failure. at lease i think thats what it sounds like.  I agree wil you on the secound part

  • I think sparks or something from the road might have just got in the wrong area unless somebody started it. I agree that kids getting to school will be very difficult along with parents getting to work and things like that.

  • We I heard in the news that there was PVC pipe under the road to store stuff and someone started it on fire on purpose. The traffic is going to be a huge problem to fix and it will be a long couple of months for people who live there.

  • I have no idea what caused the fire. The biggest problem will probably it affecting people's ability to get to work.

  • I believe that this fire was caused by an electrical short somewhere along to road and sparked big enough to ignite the road into flames, I also think that there had to have been fuel to the fire because asphalt doesn't burn as easy as you would think, so there had to have been leaked gas and oil on the road. I think that the biggest problem is kids not being able to get to school.

  • I think the fire was caused from leaking fuel and friction from something igniting the flame. I think that the bridge is going to be difficult to fix and take several month until the bridge is back in driving condition.

  • I believe that if it was started under the bridge then I think it was probably started by someone that was screwing around. I think that if hey get a way to get transportation then I think they will be able to fix it with no problem.

  • I do not know what could have caused this fire. I think getting kids to school and getting to work and other places will be a big struggle.
