A Toddler Found After Spening a Night Alone in the Woods

Two year old Brooklyn Lynn  Lilly was finally found after missing for nearly 24 hours! It is being said that she wondered from her yard in Tawas City, Michigan, while being watched over by a elder person, who's name has not yet been released. The small town never gave up hope and continued looking through the night determined to find Brooklyn. Then around noon the very next day a K-9 unit came across her, she was in surprisingly high spirits, and when the team walked up to them she started to giggle. Brooklyn only suffered minor injuries including small scratches on her noes and other parts of her body, and  blisters on her feet from losing a boot. The small town of Tawas City says that they are very grateful to have her home safe and sound.

I think that if it was not for all the caring people of this town and their determination to find her Brooklyn may have never been found.

Question- Do you think that the elder who was watching Brooklyn should be punished? Why or why not?

  • Well done Abby!

  • No, I do not think the elder should be punished being this could have happened to anyone. They could have been doing a quick chore and turned their back on her when she took off.

    • I agree with you, if I were babysitting this would be my worst fear and if it was an accident I would not want to be put in jail.

  • I don't think the elderly person should be allowed to watch children alone anymore, but they shouldn't be punished for the girl running away.

  • No, he may have had bad eye sight and thought something else was the kid...

  • No, it's an honest mistake that anyone could make, Kid's like to run off a lot.

    • I agree with you kids tend to think that it is funny to hide from adults, and this may be one of the times when the kid took it to far and got lost.

  • No. It's not like and older person could catch her. It depends if the elder called someone or they just sat down and watched T.V.

  • I don't think the elder should be punished, unless they did it on purpose. I don't know why he or she would do something like that knowing that they would get caught if they did it on purpose.

    • I think your right, but we may never know if the person did it on purpose or not, now that the child has been found they may close the case file.
