3 cops get arrested in the past 12 hours for DWI

All within 12 hours, 3 cops from the San Antonio area were arrested for DWI. The first one, 11 year veteran Gena Rodriguez, was caught Thursday night driving with her kids. She rear ended a truck and it caused a three-car wreck. She was ultimately arrested and was charged with driving with a child under 15 while intoxicated. The next one was caught Friday morning. An officer on duty saw 20 year SAPD veteran Harold Thomaston run a red light right in  front of him. The officer found out that Thomaston was an off duty cop and had been drinking and was ultimately arrested and charged with DWI. The 3rd cop was arrested Friday morning as well, but the name has not been released.

Questions:

How would you feel if you were the Chief?

Do you think that they will have the same reputation?

I would be very disappointed in all three of them. There are ways to prevent a DWI and they put many lives at risk instead of trying protect people. I don't think they will have the same reputation sadly. Instead of enforcing the law, the broke the law.

  • I would be so disappointed in my crew. These are the men and women that are here to keep us safe not the ones causing the harm. It breaks my heart to know that they could have been the ones who hurt someone instead of saving someone in a situation like this. I don't think that they will have the same reputation. I think that they will be seen as the bad ones from now on and not the good ones.

  • I would feel disappointed and ashamed of them. Driving while intoxicated is insanely dangerous, and they should know the risks associated with it. They will never have the same reputation because they did something that could have damaged many lives. Now, they will have to live with that forever.

  • If I was the chief I would be very upset that they did that. They are supposed to keep people safe not be the ones who put others in danger. Yes I think they will have reputation because they are supposed to be the good people that show others what is right and wrong.

  • If I was their chief then I would be very mad at them for not following laws that they are supposed to be enforcing. If people here that cops are now not following the law then they wont. Their reputation will change like any other person who doesn't follow the law.

  • If I was the Chief I would be very upset and disappointed with them. I would be hurt also because they are suppose to be saving and keeping people protected but instead they are putting them in danger. I also do not think they will have the same reputation after this incident. A lot of people in the community will be upset with this happening.
